Our story

A simple vision to do software services right.

Loop Future was founded in 2019 by 4 friends who had been running a company focused on the circular economy. Having built a lot of software for that business, João Bernardo, Manuel, Ricardo and João saw a gap for a responsive, customer-focused software services company, and the rest is history.

Growth has been a mix of organic and inorganic. Having attracted some investment from a local VC, some companies who share the same customer-focused and high-quality ethos have joined the stable over the last 5 years to add additional capabilities and capacity.

In 2025, we grew to >250 Engineers and took over the whole of our HQ building, expanded the management team and aligned market-facing brands. Alongside delivering top-notch software projects for customers, we regularly enjoy hosting cook-outs in our top floor kitchen, enjoying views of the historic centre of Coimbra. Come join us one day!

Co-Founder of Loop Future. Serial entrepreneur and investor at heart, deep expertise in financial analysis, M&A and international growth strategy. With a keen interest in history and a Coimbra native, a big reason for our HQ location in the old heart of the town. Outside of work, gets involved in Portuguese and European politics and tries to convert people to loving the local football team, Académica de Coimbra.

Co-Founder of Loop Future. Serial entrepreneur with deep expertise across legal, HR, compliance, Manuel also still fronts a couple of key strategic accounts. A firm optimist, one of the driving forces behind our company culture. Living in Coimbra with his wife and son, outside of work, Manuel has an interest in history and may be the only person you know who's ever met two Popes!

25+ years in the ICT industry across a range of management positions focused on business growth, client development and long-term strategic partnerships, João has long experience creating winning organisations in Portugal and internationally. Lives between Lisbon and Coimbra with his wife and family, also owning a successful restaurant, playing guitar and singing in various bands. Avid Benfica fan.

Co-founder of Ovyo which joined Loop Future in 2024, focused on ensuring delivery & technology teams have the culture needed to do their best work. After many years on the Isle of Dogs in London, now lives near Reading with his wife and two daughters. Avid Reading FC fan, DIY enthusiast & amateur BBQ chef.

18 years supporting large and medium enterprises with technology transformation across video, broadcast and IoT globally. Expert in scaling near- and off-shore Service Delivery Centres to support customers' growth. Co-Founder of Ovyo who joined Loop Future in 2024, focuses on growth, partnerships and connecting clients, teams and opportunities. Likes to move around but main base is in the UK near Gatwick, living with his wife, three boys & daughter. Football lover & Man Utd fan.

Nirmala Gambhir

Director of India

20 years leading cross-functional QA, testing and automation teams across the full SDLC. Proven expertise in delivering solutions and test & automation strategy to drive improved operational performance for companies from blue chips to startups. Serial entrepreneur with experience starting, developing and leading Indian operations for European MNCs. Oversees Loop Future's India delivery operations from Bengaluru, where she lives with her husband and two sons. Yoga practitioner and travel enthusiast.

Where we are

From Coimbra to the world.

Since 2019, Loop Future has grown from an office in the history-steeped university city of Coimbra to not only a much bigger office in Coimbra, right on one of the historical squares, but also to offices in Lisbon, Porto and Leiria within Portugal, and further offices in Bengaluru, India, in East Grinstead, UK and in Lausanne and Basel, Switzerland. All sites operate as a single, aligned delivery organisation, so the experience stays consistent regardless of where the team is based. We also have a number of remote colleagues, taking our presence to 12 countries.
